Tender Boat Washed Up In Scarborough

Scarborough Coastguard

Published by the Yorkshire Coast Radio News Team at 8:06am 7th March 2018.

Scarborough and Burniston Coastguard Rescue Teams were called out early this morning to a report of a small tender boat being washed up on Scarborough's South Bay.

There were concerns for the safety of anyone that might have been on board.

Whilst a search of the area was being organised it was established that the boat had been moored in the harbour and had broken free probably due to the recent high winds and floated out of the harbour on the ebbing tide.

Once it was established that no persons were in danger the boat was moved to a safe location where it could not be washed back out to sea.

If you see anyone in difficulty on or near the coast dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
