Published by the Yorkshire Coast Radio News Team at 6:01am 8th February 2018.

The official audience figures for the radio industry have been released today, revealing that 47% of the area’s population tune in to Yorkshire Coast Radio every week.

The figures from industry body RAJAR track listening for all of the UK's national and local radio broadcasters. The survey for the period from September to December 2017 show that 52,500 people tune in to Yorkshire Coast Radio every week more than for any other radio station available in the area.

Yorkshire Coast Radio's weekly reach of 47% is higher than for any other local radio station in England.

Yorkshire Coast Radio Managing Director Chris Sigsworth said....

“Never before has the choice of listening been so high, with an abundance of radio stations to listen to.  To have increased our audience so significantly is testament to the hard work our team do on delivering an entertaining mix of music and local content on-air, online and on social media.”

Yorkshire Coast Radio is part of the UKRD Group, and on Friday 25th May 2018 will be celebrating ‘Local Radio Day’, an annual event to highlight the work of ‘proper local radio’.
