Scarborough GoldWing Light Parade is hoping to be along the Tour de Yorkshire route when it comes to the Yorkshire Coast on Saturday 5 May.

The group, which annually comes to Scarborough and parades along the foreshore, is looking to assemble a static display on the day on West Pier or at Sandside.

An hour before the cycle race ends, they're also planning to form their own parade from Sandside through the finishing line before returning to Sandside or the West Pier to watch the race come through.

The invite comes from the Scarborough Events Team who have apparently invited 30 of the GoldWings to take part in the event.

It gives the GoldWings an opportunity to promote their annual event later in the year.

John Bates is the GoldWing Light Parade Event Organiser, he said:

"We thought it might be a great opportunity to promote our event to some new spectators, the peddle bikers if you like, the fans of the Tour de Yorkshire!

Hopefully we can have a presence there on Saturday 5 May when Stage Three comes to Scarborough.

I've had a talk with the events people in Scarborough and they think it's a good idea.

I've put an appeal on our Facebook page and we've got some riders coming from all over the UK again for the day to help us promote our event in September."

Those interested need to get in contact with GoldWings by the end of the month.
