Scarborough Man Denies Car Thefts and Assault

A Scarborough man's been in court in connection with two incidents involving cars being driven by women last month.

They happened on Sunday 7th January, the first involving an attempt ot steal a car being driven on Friargate, followed by a woman being pushed out of her car on St Thomas Street.

37 year-old Darren Robert Turner, from St Sepulchre Street, Scarborough, has denied several charges.

They are:

  • common assault
  • assault occasioning actual bodily harm
  • aggravated vehicle taking
  • dangerous driving
  • possession of a class b drug
  • driving without a proper licence
  • driving without insurance
  • driving while unfit through drugs

His trial's been set for May.
