Rail campaigners in Hunmanby and Bempton are celebrating after a u-turn by train operator Northern.

They're introducing an hourly service on the Scarborough to Hull route next May, and some trains were due to miss out the two villages.

But now they've decided they'll all stop at both stations.

Nick Harvey, one of the campaigners, said:

"I think they've changed their mind because of the case that's been put. The RSPB have a big reserve which they've spent a lot of money on at Bempton, which has growing numbers of people using it. Hunmanby, they probably didn't realise, is the largest village in Yorkshire. Even though the station is a bit away from the village, it's very close to the industrial estate which employs around 350 people, and is earmarked for expansion in the future."
