A person's been injured after a disturbance in Scarborough last night.

It happened at the Lord Nelson pub on Foreshore Road at around 10.30pm after what police are describing as a 'scuffle' which involved between 12-14 people.

At least four police vans were sent to the scene, where officers then dispersed the group. No arrests were made and the person hurt suffered minor injuries.

Police say they managed to contain the disturbance and enquiries are ongoing.

Kerry Bell is the landlady at the Lord Nelson pub, she says it was a disagreement between two sets of Trevellers.

She said:

"A majority of the Travellers that were in the pub came last year, and they were fine. Then these new Travellers came in and they caused the trouble.

I was talking to some of the Travellers as they were leaving and a majority of them were upset that this had happened.

There should be more of a police presence. Licensing ask you what you have in place and tell you if you do have any trouble, use your radio.

We used it, nothing happened. There's no point in even having one to contact the police.

In the end I had to contact police by calling 999."
