Whitby Hotel Claims Title at National Awards

Whitby Hotel Claims Title at National Awards

Published by the Yorkshire Coast Radio News Team at 9:50am 26th May 2017.

A North Yorkshire hotel and coastal retreat is celebrating success having taken top honours at a hospitality award ceremony focussing on the very best of guest experiences in the UK and around the world.

Raithwaite Estate in Whitby was revealed as the winner in the UK Country and Coastal 51+ room category of the inaugural Boutique Hotel Guest Experience Awards, more often referred to as the BoHos, which took place at Montcalm Royal London House this week.

Raithwaite Estate, which is managed by Inn-telligence who had an outstanding tally of 4 hotels shortlisted for awards, fought off impressive competition in claiming the title with The Imperial Hotel (Llandudno, Conwy) and Old Thorns Manor (Liphook, Hampshire) missing out to the Yorkshire venue.

Presented by Boutique Hotel News alongside GuestRevu - guest feedback and online reputation management specialists - plus the Glion Institute of Higher Education, the BoHos, recognise the boutique, lifestyle and hybrid hotels that are delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Based on guest feedback rather than the usual panel of judges, winners were determined from a combination of aggregated verified guest reviews from websites across the world and direct feedback via questionnaires – all of which were collated and independently evaluated, scored and ranked by the Glion Institute of Higher Education in the UK.

Helen Blower, Estate Manager at Raithwaite Estate was delighted with the success:

“Winning an award is always wonderful but even more so when they are based on what people say about their time at Raithwaite Estate. When it all comes down to it, our guests are the judges that really matter.”

As a team we dedicate ourselves to ensuring that everyone who stays with us, comes to the spa, joins us for a conference or dines with us, has the very best possible experience and this award is a testament to that.”

Other winners at the glitzy ceremony came from across the UK – though Raithwaite was the only one from the North East of England – along with venues in Russia and South Africa which claimed the international awards.
