Scarborough's Night Time Economy: The Hospital and the Council

Late night drinking in Scarborough town centre is putting extra pressure on health services.

The town's hospital says on a Friday and Saturday night, as many as 40 per cent of people turning up to A and E have problems related to drink.

It's as we're spending this week looking at the night time economy on and around St Nicholas Street.

Meanwhile, Scarborough council's Investment Manager says the town centre needs more things for young people to do at night.

Nick Taylor says that's part of his plan to reduce the number of late night drinkers in pubs in and around St Nicholas Street at the weekend.
