Help With Energy Saving in Scarborough

Published by the Yorkshire Coast Radio News Team at 7:57am 26th October 2015.

As the rising cost of living continues to put pressure on household budgets, Choices4Energy will be using Big Energy Saving Week to promote its energy saving advice to local residents.

Big Energy Saving Week is a national campaign running from 26 October to 1 November, which is run by Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) and supported by charities, the Government and the energy industry. The aim is to help consumers check they are on the best deal, switch tariff or supplier and take up help to insulate their homes and reduce their energy usage.

Choices4Energy can advise residents on whether they could save money on energy bills, check eligibility for free insulation, provide information on renewables or new technologies and give general tips on how to save energy.

Choices4Energy can be contacted by emailing: choices4energy@scarborough.gov.uk on Twitter @Choices4Energy or on Facebook or by calling 01723 361518.

The Choices4Energy office is located in the Customer First centre, St Nicholas Street, Scarborough and will be open from 26 to 30 October at the following times: Monday 9.30am to 5.00pm, Tuesday 8.30am to 5.00pm, Wednesday 9.30am to 4.00pm, Thursday 10.30am to 1.30pm and Friday 11.00am to 2.00pm.

Residents can also get help and advice online at www.bigenergysavingweek.org.uk or from their local Citizens Advice Bureau.
