Free Online Film Talk with George Cromack - Dracula, Frankenstein, Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Ingrid Pitt and beyond. Exploring the cinematic works produced by British film company Hammer, renown for their horror films of the 50s, 60s and into the 70s. Examine the aspects of the films which made Hammer Horror a cornerstone in popular cinematic culture, considering what it is about the gothic terrors of these films which seem to make them eternally popular with audiences. However, we also take time to consider other lesser known ventures by the company, asking if their constant return to monstrous bogey men (and women), and one vampire in particular, put them out of step with changing times and ultimately contributed to the demise of the studio. With a focus on some classic Hammer Horror offerings but also some which may surprise you.
