Due to the disappointment of having to cancel last years Charity Gig due to unforeseen circumstances, the Band Nearly Famous 60's Annual Charity Gig this year will be held on Friday 31st January at the Roscoe Rooms Scarborough 7:30-11:30pm.
This years gig will be dedicated to Roy Piper who sadly passed away recently and was an original member of Jonty and the Strangers in the 60's.
All the proceeds to this years event will be donated to the Scarborough Macmillan Nurses .
Tickets for the event are on sale at Record Revivals, Northway Scarborough at £10:00p
Nearly Famous have produced a CD including guest artist Paul Garbutt, proceeds form the CD will go towards this years charity .
The Band Nearly Famous is made up from local band members of the original groups that played in the Sixties and Seventies.
Nearly Famous consists of Jonty Hartley 'Jonty and the Strangers' (the first rock band to feature in Scarborough), Pete Liley from
'The Moonshots and the Mandrakes', Bob Woodyat and Graham Trousdale from 'The Incas', and Pete Jackson who played drums with Brave New World . Paul Murray a local DJ will once again be the compare for the night which may include special guest Paul Garbutt.
All those involved will make sure the event is a fantastic success.
