The instructions will focus on the Five Strengths, which are a summary of the crucial points of practice in the Mahayana Instructions for How to Live and How to Die.

These five strengths will help us establish our meditation: aspiration, familiarisation, planting white seeds, integrating and sharing/ dedication. They are drawn from the 7 Points of Mind Training from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.

The five strengths focus on utilizing the practice in one's whole life, as well as at the time of death. They help us establish our meditation through developing aspiration, familiarisation, positive seeds, integration and dedication.

While easy to understand these five strengths have a profound meaning that can help us “jump start” meditation practice if it has diminished, and also keep our momentum going to practice regularly. They are easy to remember and help us stay on track.

We will also look at how these five powers can be applied at the time of death and help us to let go.

Over the weekend, we will develop Tonglen and other practices to balance theory and practice.
We will also see how these five powers can be applied to letting go at the time of death.

This course is suitable for beginners as well as people who have been practising longer.
