At the Whitby Rugby club starting at 7.30pm on Thursday the 8th November and then weekly from there on. The club will be known as The Jukebox Ukes and will be open to all , there will be a choice of songs projected onto a screen on the wall so all will be able to follow. So don’t forget your Ukes.

The aim of the club is to allow people of all ages to enjoy their music in a group environment and hopefully learn from each other, so come along if you are both an experienced player, a beginner or anywhere in between.
This is a new venture so we hope it will grow so please come along on Thursday the 8th.

Murder Mystery

Friday 23rd & Saturday 24th November 2018

Celebrity nightclub Good Times, owned by Carl Lawrence, was robbed by unknown armed assailants and burnt down over 18 months ago. Tonight is the celebration of Fever, Carl Lawrence’s new celebrity attraction, which will open in two weeks’ time. Carl has advertised for new dancers who he will be auditioning tonight.

Will tonight reveal more than who will work at Fever? Will someone reveal who burnt down Good Times and if so, would Carl be driven to Murder? Or will an affair with a best friend’s girl drive a dagger through the heart? A brilliant murder mystery event plot, professionally acted, will allow you to be at the center of what will be an intriguing evening? And can you work out what has happened?

‘For many people, The Nutcracker is the true curtain-raiser to Christmas, bringing a special magic to the advent season.

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a trip to your local theatre for a dazzling production of the most famous Ballet in the world – The Nutcracker.

Traditionally, Russian State Ballet and Opera House is back for their annual UK tour with the vibrant, and enchanting full touring ballet production.

The Nutcracker is an eternal seasonal favourite directed and choreographed by the former award winning Bolshoi Ballet Soloist, Konstantin Uralsky.

Friends get together to display their art work!

Ayton Artists & Friends are hosting their second Annual Exhibition of work at The Picturesque Gallery, St John’s Road, Scarborough. The local artists have been sharing their passion in discussing and creating a range of original works of art, including batik, felt work, watercolours, oil, ink, textiles and scraperboard.
The Exhibition runs from Saturday, 3 November to Wednesday, 28 November 2018. Work will be available to purchase during the exhibition.

Every Saturday come along and meet the Artists’ over tea/coffee and cake, all welcome.

In addition each Saturday there will be a display ‘Table of Work’ which provides an opportunity to purchase individually creative artworks, cards etc., all produced by the Artists’.
A selection of unframed work will also be available allowing purchasers to arrange their personal choice of framing. Alex at Picturesque will be happy to advise and provide framing, if required. Artists exhibiting include Linda Auckland, Anne Buckley Anne Dargue , Joyce Bell, Anita Cassedy, Jan Draper, Debbie Myers, Steve Overy, Margaret Sugden and Christine Wilde.

Residents in the Sleights area are being encouraged to get involved with their community at the Celebrating Sleights Volunteering Fair on 24 November.

The event, organised by Community First Yorkshire and North Yorkshire County Council, is open to all and promises to be a celebration of local life, activities and skills. There will be lots of information on how people can get involved and volunteer in their local community. Why not come along and try something new or even start a new hobby?

Richard Pulsford, Conflict of Interest, Saturday 24 November at 11am
When stand-up comedian Richard Pulsford decided to research his family tree he uncovered interesting stories of ordinary people caught up in world wars - on both sides. This show will focus on two of his serving relatives who died in 1918, how they got caught up in the conflicts, the far-reaching effects of the war on their families’ lives and how such conflicts of interest still resonate today.
