The Annual long distance Yacht Race is on Saturday June 29th starting in the South bay at 1000. This race starts in Scarborough and finishes in Ijmuiden on the Dutch coast there are boats competing from Hartlepool, Whitby and Bridlington as well as local yachts. Again the event is sponsored by Boyes (for good value) and this year has fallen on the same day as the Armed Forces event so will add to the spectacle in the bay. After the race boats will travel on the North Sea Canal to Amsterdam and then join up for a presentation dinner in the old fishing port of Hoorn.
