Presented by: YMCA Productions

The biblical story of Joseph and his coat of many colours comes alive in the musical retelling.

Joseph -- the favourite son of Jacob -- is blessed with vivid dreams that foretell the future. Sold into slavery by his jealous brothers, Joseph endures a series of adventures which challenge him to his core. Soon he finds himself belonging to Potiphar, whose wife makes advances toward Joseph and ultimately land him behind bars. However, news of Joseph’s ability to interpret dreams sparks the interest of the hilariously Elvis-like Pharaoh. Soon, Joseph is out of jail and well on his way to second-in-command. Eventually Joseph’s brothers find themselves unknowingly groveling at the feet of the brother they betrayed. As they fail to even recognise him, Joseph tests their integrity. He ultimately reveals himself and the brothers are reconciled. A truly timeless Old Testament tale, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is set to a multitude of musical genres, spanning from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock and roll.

TS13 5EB

On Sunday 28th April this year, a tractor road run, 'Robs Run', will be starting its journey from The Fox Inn at Roxby at 9.00am...the aim it to raise much needed funds for the Macmillan Nurses. The idea of the Road Run was born in 2015 in memory of a popular and much loved local Mickleby man, Rob Norris who passed away in 2014 after battling cancer. He was cared for and supported throughout his illness by nurses from the Macmillan Cancer Support...and in return and in recognition of this his family are wanting to raise money in a way they know Rob himself would of loved.

If anyone would like to partake in the Road Run its 9am start at the fox tickets are £20 and this includes bacon butties, cuppa, dinner and a raffle ticket. or If you want to rock up to the pub on the day and cheer on and support the event and buy a few raffle tickets and sample a few pints...please do! But most of all...if anyone would like to donate to the event, or if anyone would like to donate some raffle prizes, prizes to auction off or cash donations etc then i am happy to collect these for the family.

Running for 8 sessions:

The Influences, Career and Musical Development of Johann Sebastian Bach.' JS Bach is 'everyone's composer'. His music is well-known and well-loved, all over the world. How was it that a man who never travelled more than 100 miles from the place of his birth was able to assimilate such a huge range of national musical styles and shape them into the greatest music of the High Baroque? How could a man that endured so much misery write such uplifting, glorious music as The Brandenburg Concertos' and 'The Christmas Oratorio'? Is Procol Harum's 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale' (1967) Bach's greatest hit? How could one of the best-known composers of all time have died in poverty? We will look at the life of Bach, the places he lived and worked in, the composers and musicians that influenced him and the ones that he influenced, with particular regard to music of other genres in the twentieth century.

If in receipt of benefit/low income you may be able to attend for free.
