We hope to raise as much as possible for them and hope all local Scarborough residents will get involved, come and enjoy the films and give what they can” - Ben Stonehouse, founder of Moonlight Cinema.

About us

Moonlight Drive-in Cinema
Moonlight Drive-in Cinema was setup by a young Yorkshire entrepreneur looking to make a difference in his home town of Scarborough. Now the largest drive-in company in the UK, we have two permanent sites in Kent and Castleford and spend the year touring the UK with our outdoor seated cinemas and pop-up drive-in cinemas. Adding a successful hire department in 2017, Moonlight Cinema cater for a large variety of cinema events.

Saint Catherine’s
Saint Catherine’s provide care and support in people’s homes, the community and in our Hospice for adults with a terminal illness, and to their families, carers and friends. Our doctors, nurses, therapists, counsellors and social workers are here to ensure that life is maximized. They are trained specialists in palliative care who take a unique ‘whole person’ view of every individual, their life and their loved ones and work with them to enhance their health and wellbeing. We can support through symptom management, medication, therapies, personal planning and counselling but, we also take the time to listen or talk and understand that each person makes their own individual journey through life and death. All our services are free of charge. We rely on and are very thankful for the tireless work of our supporters and donors to raise the £5.5m needed to deliver our specialist care.

Scarborough College
We are delighted to be invited to work with Moonlight Cinemas for their annual fundraising event, especially as they are supporting St Catherine's Hospice. A well-known and hugely respected charity within Scarborough. The College and our community do a lot of their own charity fundraising throughout the academic year so being involved in an additional project is great for everyone concerned, enabling us to directly support more of our local community.

Being able to welcome local families to our campus and host the two screenings seemed like an ideal location for everyone involved. We hope that Scarborrians and visitors to the area will join us all and support the two film evenings and help us all to support St Catherine's Hospice. Let's hope the wonderful summer weather holds till the end of the school holidays and both evenings are a huge success.
