The Scarborough Maritime Heritage Centre will open from 11am to 4pm on July 4th & 5th then every Friday to Sunday until the end of July. In August they should be back to their normal hours. Coronavirus guidelines will be in place, allowing only 2 people or 1 family in at a time with hand sanitiser on entrance and exit. The exhibition is inspired by the 75th anniversary of VE Day in May 2020 and is about Scarborough during World War 2.

Exploring the cinematic works produced by British film studio Ealing, renown for their comedies of the immediate post-war era. With a focus on some classic comedies and some lesser known ventures into WW2 propaganda and even horror, just what darker issues were Ealing juggling with, how did they find a balance and why are we still talking about their films in the 21st Century?
