Santa Paws Appeal

Thursday 12th December, 2019

Every year Pets at Home run their annual charity Christmas event The Santa Paws Appeal to raise money for Support Adoption for Pets who help animal charities by funding grants, building new rescue centres, funding vet bills and even pet medical equipment for fire stations! Each store also supports their own local charities who get 50% of all the money raised. Scarborough store supports Yorkshire Coast Dog Rescue who help, foster and rehome dogs across the Yorkshire Coast. From November 22nd until Christmas Eve events take place inside the store: tombola, bake sales, games (including our toughest one yet - guess the combination to free Santa from the crate!) Just 50p will provide a rescue pet with a Christmas dinner. Scarborough is aiming to raise £4000 this year! Donations can be made in store at the stalls or added on to your shopping (so card payment is fine!) and they can also be made online. Yorkshire a Coast Dog Rescue are also looking for volunteers to help run the tombolas and bake sales and of course...pets are welcome to join too! even if it’s just an hour or two!

Victorian Christmas Market & Victorian Activities

Thursday 12th December, 2019 9:00am to 5:30pm

There’s no Bah Humbug in Scarborough this Christmas as we are going all Victorian to commemorate 200 years since the birth of Queen Victoria. Alongside the eclectic mix of individual, High Street shops and eateries, the ‘Queen of the Yorkshire Coast’ will warmly welcome a special Victorian Christmas Market from 10th to 15th December.

Wrap up warm and pay a visit to uniquely Victorian themed Christmas huts and discover that unique Christmas Gift you have been looking for – look out for Queen Victoria herself who’ll be around to keep a watchful eye on proceedings! Watch the dazzling Victorian Juggler with fire, balls, clubs and rope and take the children on a journey back in time and be dazzled by the magical mayhem of close up magic tricks.
There’s more interactive family fun with Victorian games such as snakes and ladders, crochet, jack sticks, graces, hoopla and other fun period board games. A candle making demonstration will show off the skills and methods required for this all important part of Victorian life with candles made from Bees Wax and Tallow.

The Scarborough Victorian Christmas Market will be on Westborough, near the Brunswick Centre, from Tuesday 10th December until Sunday 15th December, including late night shopping on Thursday 12th.

9 Osgodby Close
YO11 3JW

Come along to our friendly monthly class and make 4 designs of gift box (actually one is a gift box stack!). These will include the 2 pictured and 2 additional gift boxes in December 2019. Colours and patterns may differ from those pictured – choices will be offered in order of sign up for the class.

All gift boxes can be adapted for year round use by simply changing the paper, ribbon and/or toppers used.

The class costs £15.00 or is FREE with a minimum order (of £35) and includes:

- all materials needed to make the gift boxes;
- face-to-face instruction on the day;
- refreshments.

Please bring your own preferred adhesive (or you can purchase some at class). Beginners will easily be able to follow the instructions and experienced crafters are welcome to put their own spin on the projects.

If you wish to place an order (and therefore qualify for a free class) you can either place and pay for the order at the class you attend and collect it from me at a future scheduled class, or you can contact me and place your order in advance to collect at one of these December classes.

To be sure of a place, please contact me as soon as possible but at least 24hrs in advance of the class. This is so I can have enough supply packs cut ready. If you are unable to RSVP in time then you can still message me via Facebook or give me a call (0775 1133886), to check whether I can squeeze you in.

In our classes we use supplies and tools from Stampin' Up! I have been a demonstrator with this company for over 10 years and believe and trust in the quality of their products.
