Ayton Artists & Friends get together to display their art work.
This is the 3rd annual exhibition of work at The Picturesque Gallery, St John’s Road, Scarborough by the Ayton Artists and Friends, a group of friends who meet and share a passion in discussing and creating original works of art. The range of work includes batik, felt work, watercolours, oil, ink, textiles and scraperboard.
The exhibition runs from Wednesday 2nd November to Saturday 30th November 2019.
Every Saturday everyone is welcome to “Meet the Artists” and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee with cake ina warm comfortable surroundings.
A selection of unframed work will also be available allowing purchasers to arrange their personal choice of framing. Alex at Picturesque will be happy to advise and provide framing, if required.

This course is for women who want to sing together while learning about how good singing is for you! Sing acapella (unaccompanied) harmony songs from around the world and learn techniques to improve your singing, breathing,posture and health. You don't need to be able to read music and you won't be asked to sing solo. Songs will be taught by ear in a relaxed and supportive environment. You will learn rounds, harmony and simple polyphonic songs from a range of vocal traditions including Eastern European, Gospel, Maori, and African countries. The emphasis is on enjoyment and well-being, rather than being 'good at singing'.

A course combining plein air (outside) drawing with studio based study around composition, and techniques regarding the landscape tradition and contemporary ideas. We will consider a variety of styles and ideas around the landscape as well as various dry mediums, collage and ink. Opportunities for experimentation will also be encouraged. We will work directly from the landscape as well as from our photographs to create our own interpretation of the local landscape. We will engage in discussion regarding our ideas of the landscape, sense of place and experience and how that might influence our choices of landscape and its depiction.

Cayton Parish Council will be holding their Annual Community Spectacular Firework Display on Tuesday 5th November at the McCain Sports Field (The John Young Conference Centre).
The Grand Firework Display will commence at 6:45pm.
Entry to the ground from 5pm and Free for pedestrians. A small charge will be made for car parking on site so if possible please walk to the event. Light refreshments will be available from 5pm .
The Parish Council wish to remind the community that SPARKLERS are not allowed at this firework event.
