We invite you to sit back, relax and enjoy a performance by some of the most versatile musicians you are ever likely to find.
As always, our morning concerts will present music on the lighter, brighter side with plenty of familiar tunes and jaunty rhythms, balanced by romantic melodies, stirring marches, lilting waltzes – and so much more to entertain you.
All morning concerts are performed within the elegant Suncourt Enclosure with Scarborough's stunning South Bay as the back-drop. If the weather is inclement, don’t worry, we simply move inside!
Our concerts still offer excellent value but if you have never experienced a Scarborough Spa Orchestra we invite you to one of our Sunday morning concerts where you can Pay What You Like! (Recommended Donation £3)
We look forward to meeting our audiences throughout the season, renewing old friendships and making new ones as we aim to introduce more and more people to the wonderful music played by the Legendary Scarborough Spa Orchestra.

Neville and Belinda are hosting their extended family over a long weekend. The presence of two tyrannical uncles – Bernard, whose ham-fisted annual puppet shows are a source of dread to young and old alike, and TV addict Harvey – promises to stir up trouble from the start. And that’s before you add to the mix broken toys, creaking marriages and guest novelist Clive, whose relationship with Belinda’s sister Rachel is going nowhere, causing him to look for love elsewhere.
Directed by the author, this is the first time that the Stephen Joseph Theatre has staged Season’s Greetings since its premiere here in 1980. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see a sparkling new production of a classic Ayckbourn comedy.

L. Frank Baum’s classic novel comes to life in The Wizard of Oz. This faithful adaptation by the Royal Shakespeare Company features all the most beloved songs and moments from the 1939 classic film, brought to life onstage. Young Dorothy Gale is swept away by a tornado from her Kansas farm to the magical land of Oz. There, she encounters a host of whimsical characters: good witches, bad witches, animals that talk, scarecrows that walk, and things magical to behold. To find her way home, she must journey along the Yellow Brick Road to see the mysterious and all-powerful Wizard in Emerald City. Along the way, she makes new friends, but must also brave many dangers, including the Wicked Witch of the West, who will stop at nothing to get her hands on Dorothy’s magical ruby slippers. To make it home safely, Dorothy must learn an important lesson: there’s no place like home.

Blaze Bayley
Thursday 22nd August, 2019 7:30pm to 11:55pm

BLAZE BAYLEY (Iron Maiden front man from 1994 - 1999) with support from VICE.
Tickets are now available from Ticketsource https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/booking/scarborough/apollo-bar/blaze-bayley/2019-08-22/20:00
BLAZE BAYLEY
BLAZE BAYLEY is a singer/songwriter born 29th May 1963 in Birmingham, England. Having started his professional music career in WOLFSBANE in 1984, his career elevated to global heights when he joined the world’s most important metal band IRON MAIDEN, with whom he released two albums and toured worldwide between 1994 and 1999.
After leaving Iron Maiden, Blaze embarked on a solo career, during which he has so far released 11 albums and has enjoyed an enviable reputation as one of the hardest working artists touring worldwide.
In 2015 Blaze celebrated the 15th anniversary of his first solo release ‘Silicon Messiah’ and during the period 2016-2018 has released a trilogy of albums following his ‘Infinite Entanglement’ story which is based on a sci-fi concept. Part I was ‘Infinite Entanglement’ released in March 2016, Part II ‘Endure and Survive’ in March 2017 and the concluding Part III ‘The Redemption of William Black’ was released in March 2018.
In addition to his headline world tours, in 2016 Blaze joined DISTURBED onstage at Download Festival, one of the UK’s premier events, for a rendition of ‘Baba O’Riley’ by THE WHO. He was also accompanied onstage in Poland by Swedish metalheads SABATON for a version of the Maiden classic ‘Man on the Edge’.
Each of the ‘Infinite Entanglement’ trilogy releases was promoted with world tours including a 6 week tour of North America in 2017. During that tour the editor of UK-based Powerplay magazine shadowed Blaze and his band on the Canada dates, leading to a 3-page tour special and front cover for Blaze and guitarist Chris Appleton.
In 2018 Blaze received an accolade in the highly influential Sweden Rock magazine where he was voted #67 in the top 100 greatest rock and metal singers of all time, high praise indeed, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Jon Bon Jovi for example. Also, amongst his summer festival appearances in 2018 he was proud to play Hammerfest in UK, Dong Festival in Germany and Sabaton Open Air in Sweden.
In 2019 Blaze is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his joining Iron Maiden and a selection of festivals will include a specially selected Iron Maiden setlist from his era with the band. These festival appearances include Sweden Rock (on the 25,000 capacity Rock Stage) and Rock the Coast Festival, Spain, alongside some of the biggest artists in the business, such as Rainbow and the Scorpions.
On March 1st Blaze releases a live album and DVD called ‘Live in France’ which was recorded near Nancy, in May 2018.
Blaze has a very stable line-up of musicians as his backing band picked from British metallers Absolva; Chris Appleton (guitar), Martin McNee (drums) and Karl Schramm (bass). It is these three musicians who have recorded the ‘Infinite Entanglement’ trilogy and indeed Chris Appleton is co-producer and co-writer. The album was mastered by Ade Emsley, known for his work with Iron Maiden and stunning artwork provided by Akirant Illustration who notably also works for Iron Maiden as well as Star Wars in the film industry.
Having recently completed the world tour for ‘The Redemption of William Black’ in Latin America, the current tour is entitled ‘Tour of the Eagle Spirit’, named after the final song in the trilogy. It begins in Europe in March, UK in March-April, North America April-May, then after the above-mentioned summer festival shows, there are additional UK and European dates in the late-Summer / early-Fall, after which Blaze and the band begin work on the 12th studio release.
