The last remaining professional seaside orchestra continues a seaside tradition that dates back to 1912.

We invite you to sit back, relax and enjoy a performance by some of the most versatile musicians you are ever likely to find.

As always, our morning concerts will present music on the lighter, brighter side with plenty of familiar tunes and jaunty rhythms, balanced by romantic melodies, stirring marches, lilting waltzes – and so much more to entertain you.

All morning concerts are performed within the elegant Suncourt Enclosure with Scarborough's stunning South Bay as the back-drop. If the weather is inclement, don’t worry, we simply move inside!

Our concerts still offer excellent value but if you have never experienced a Scarborough Spa Orchestra we invite you to one of our Sunday morning concerts where you can Pay What You Like! (Recommended Donation £3)

We look forward to meeting our audiences throughout the season, renewing old friendships and making new ones as we aim to introduce more and more people to the wonderful music played by the Legendary Scarborough Spa Orchestra.

There is no better way to spend a relaxing morning in Scarborough!

We hope to see you this Summer.

Running for 8 sessions:

The Influences, Career and Musical Development of Johann Sebastian Bach.' JS Bach is 'everyone's composer'. His music is well-known and well-loved, all over the world. How was it that a man who never travelled more than 100 miles from the place of his birth was able to assimilate such a huge range of national musical styles and shape them into the greatest music of the High Baroque? How could a man that endured so much misery write such uplifting, glorious music as The Brandenburg Concertos' and 'The Christmas Oratorio'? Is Procol Harum's 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale' (1967) Bach's greatest hit? How could one of the best-known composers of all time have died in poverty? We will look at the life of Bach, the places he lived and worked in, the composers and musicians that influenced him and the ones that he influenced, with particular regard to music of other genres in the twentieth century.

If in receipt of benefit/low income you may be able to attend for free.
