Wild About | STOATS and WEASELS | Art Exhibition

The Robert Fuller Gallery
Fotherdale Farm

Find out all about the hidden lives of stoats and weasels and glimpse a new family of animal TV stars before they feature in a new BBC Natural World Series at this fascinating wildlife art exhibition.
Artist Robert E Fuller devoted 5 years to following wild weasels and stoats in his Yorkshire garden for this art show. His studies will soon feature on BBC Natural World, a series produced by the BBC Natural History Unit - the esteemed filmmakers behind Blue Planet and Planet Earth.
See his final paintings and watch never-before seen footage of these secretive mammals at this unique event. Small, swift and deeply secretive, stoats and weasels have a reputation for cunning brutality. But until now, no one has actually studied their behaviour in any detail.
Robert Fuller deployed more than 60 surveillance cameras in his garden, getting to know six generations of the same stoat family. What he discovered upturns common misconceptions about these little-known animals.
The exhibition includes live cameras offering visitors a glimpse of weasels and stoats as they clamber over dry stone walls and disappear into their underground nests.
There will also be screens displaying the best of Robert's footage; including films of stoats swimming with the competence of mini-otters in tiny ponds!
Storyboards detailing this fascinating research project and introducing visitors to the individual stoat and weasel characters due to feature on TV will also be on display.
This event is free and refreshments will be served.

Father’s Day is coming up fast, and a local chocolatier is giving away edible mobile phones to mark the occasion!

Crofts Chocolates in Newborough, Scarborough, will give the first one hundred customers who call into their shop in Saturday 15th June a chocolate mobile phone in either dark, milk or white chocolate.

Alex Grant, co-owner of Crofts, said: “To help celebrate Father’s Day, we came up with this gift idea for those dads with a sweet tooth!

“The first one hundred customers through our doors on the Saturday can claim one chocolate mobile phone and give it to their dad or father figure the following day.

“For anyone who’s forgotten ‘the big day’, we are also open on Father’s Day so if we have any mobile phones left, we would welcome customers to come in and claim their free gift!

“Our chocolate is gluten free and our dark chocolate is also dairy free and vegan-friendly too.

“This is a special day for fathers and we are very much about helping our local customers help make their dads feel special. As we know this will be popular, it is one free chocolate mobile phone per person.”

Alex also added that no purchase is necessary to take part in the promotion, and there are lots of other chocolate gift ideas in their shop. The retail value of the mobile phones is £2.65

Find out all about the secret lives of stoats and weasels at this fascinating wildlife art exhibition. A comprehensive collection of fine art paintings, photographs and short films, this event challenges everything you thought you knew about Britain’s most secretive mammals.
Artist Robert E Fuller, whose intense stoat studies are due to feature on TV in a new BBC Natural World Series, devoted five years to following the daily lives of wild weasels and stoats in his Yorkshire garden.
His new paintings feature weasel kits tumbling in play and stoat mothers gently tending to their young. Displayed alongside photographs and rare footage filmed inside their nests, the event defies common misconceptions about these little understood mammals.
Small, swift and deeply secretive, stoats and weasels have a reputation for cunning brutality. But until now, no one has actually studied their behaviour in any detail.
Robert Fuller deployed more than 60 surveillance cameras in his garden, getting to know six generations of the same stoat family. His discoveries reveal the extent of their tenacity as hunters whilst at the same time uncovering the cuddlier side to these remarkable mammals.
The exhibition includes live cameras offering visitors a direct view of weasels and stoats as they clamber over dry stone walls and disappear into their underground nests.
There will also be screens displaying the best of Robert's footage; including films of stoats swimming with the competence of mini-otters in tiny ponds!
Storyboards detailing the story behind this fascinating research project and introducing visitors to the individual stoat and weasel characters will also be on display.

The award winning London smash hit play and subsequent feature film DEATH AND THE MAIDEN is revived in this exclusive tour by Baroque Theatre Company. Gripping high drama, with great intensity, this is a unique and first-rate thriller.

Set in an unnamed country that is emerging from a totalitarian dictatorship, the play explores the after effects of repression on hearts and souls in vivid and compelling style. Paulina Escobar's husband Gerardo is to head an investigation into past human rights abuses. Paulina is convinced that the powerful and charismatic Dr. Miranda supervised her abuse as a political prisoner.

Conflict ensues as their lives cross paths and Paulina, gun in hand, captures the Doctor and puts him on trial, Escobar doesn't know whether to believe his distraught wife or his persuasive new friend. This is an enthralling, intellectual and emotional tug of war with the human psyche laid bare.

It’s the first day after winter break at East High. The Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians and Skater Dudes all find their cliques. Basketball team captain and resident jock, Troy, discovers that the brainy Gabriella, a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip, has just enrolled at East High. The couple causes an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical.
