Scarborough’s unique Shop at the SJT is marking ‘The Greatest of Times’ in tandem with Coastival 2019.

Shop at the SJT, which includes creations from a number of talented local Makers, will feature a selection of specially made items that will be on sale from Monday 18th February onwards.

Shop at the SJT will be open at their usual times and for the festival dates will be open from 11am to 8pm on Friday and 10am to 8pm Saturday.

Shop at the SJT features some of the area’s most eclectic talents, showcasing their creations in this iconic listed building.

Lynne Arnison, chairperson of the collective, said:

“Our Makers are delighted to get involved in this respected festival.

“Creators have made gifts that encompass ‘The Greatest of Times’ theme of Coastival.

“We look forward to taking part in the event and to meeting our customers at Shop at the SJT, which is located in the foyer of the Stephen Joseph Theatre.”

Scarborough Library Concert Presents: Pianist Tim Tozer and 3 Talentend Singers in Concert

On Thursday 21st February there will be another Lunchtime Concert at Scarborough Library. We present the popular singing trio of mezzo soprano Victoria Manders-Wood, mezzo soprano Rebecca Smith and contralto Valerie Parker their accompanist is Tim Tozer. They will be performing a wide variety of music from opera, songs and comedy. Pictured below from left to right is Rebecca Smith, Tim Tozer and Valerie Parker.
The concert starts at 12.30pm and admission is by donation on the door.

*Next Week's Concert (On Thursday 28th February) there will be another Lunchtime Concert at Scarborough Library. We present political journalist and former Calendar presenter Geoff Druett, Opera North former singers bass David Owen-Lewis, soprano Sue Lees and pianists Keith Swallow and Timothy Raymond. There will also be a group of talented children who study with Sue Lees and who will be singing among other things Pie Jesu and The sound of Music. Keith and Timothy will be performing solos and duets and David and Sue will be singing arias and comedy songs. Geoff will read seasonal poems and present the concert.
As always the Concert starts at 12:30, lasts for about an hour and admission is by donation on the door.

At the Whitby Rugby club starting at 7.30pm on Thursday the 8th November and then weekly from there on. The club will be known as The Jukebox Ukes and will be open to all , there will be a choice of songs projected onto a screen on the wall so all will be able to follow. So don’t forget your Ukes.

The aim of the club is to allow people of all ages to enjoy their music in a group environment and hopefully learn from each other, so come along if you are both an experienced player, a beginner or anywhere in between.
This is a new venture so we hope it will grow so please come along on Thursday the 8th.
