People are being invited to attend two programmes of free workshops to help improve mental health and well-being.
The workshops will both take place weekly on Thursdays in Scarborough starting on Thursday 10th January with one course focusing on mental health awareness and the other on behaviour and communication.

The five-week Mental Health Awareness course will run for two hours from 10.00am to midday and will cover a range of topics including mental health awareness and well-being, confidence building, anxiety management, recovery and resilience and managing worry and stress.

The second programme – Behaviour Change and Communication – will take place over four afternoon sessions between 1.00pm to 3.00pm. These will focus on anger management, communication skills, advocacy, managing conflict and building networks and relationships.

The workshops are being held at Falsgrave Community Resource Centre on Seamer Road and are delivered by an SWR Mind support worker as well as one of our volunteers. If cost of transport is a barrier to access, we have a small fund to pay for local public transport or may be able to help with arranging a lift. Places are limited and must be booked in advance so if you would like more information, to ask about transport or to book a place, contact Philip Hemingway at the SWR Mind office on 01723 356 562.
