The Night the Moonchild Smiled
Saturday 15th December, 2018 10:30am

The “grown ups” always say
“Come on Betsy do cheer up”
But Betsy will not play.
“Oh Betsy straighten up your crown”
The King and Queen request
“Turn that frown upside down
You’re the moodiest Princess”.
The King and Queen decide one night
To make their moonchild grin
They’ll need some help with their plight
Or they’ll throw her in the bin!
A lovely, silly tale of a moody moonchild and how the moon folk are brought together to make her smile. With all the usual Tiny Time Tales fun and interaction.

Alice in Wonderland
Saturday 15th December, 2018 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Until she grew up and did.
This year, the team that brought you the smash hit Christmas shows A (Scarborough) Christmas Carol and Pinocchio invite you to Boyes on a crowded Christmas Eve, as Alice falls down the rabbit hole once again to find she’s still a child in Wonderland… but Wonderland has changed.
And not for the better.
Can she save her wonderful friends? Will she get back to her kids, who she left by a fire extinguisher near the stock room? And can you get decent phone reception at the Mad Hatter’s house?
Daft, exciting and filled with brilliant songs, Alice in Wonderland is a delight for all the family, and their rabbits.*
*The rabbit thing might not be true. Who knows what rabbits are into? Leave them behind.

Westborough Methodist Church

In addition to the main works which will definitely have a seasonal flavour ,rumour has it that Frank will be giving us a solo performance so we will just have to wait and see what he has in store…..
The concert begins with Benjamin Britten’s St Nicolas Cantata which follows the, at times, rather dark tale of St Nicolas from birth and boyhood through to adult life and ending with his death.
This is followed by in lighter vein by Joy to the World by Karl Jenkins which is an arrangement of pieces with a seasonal theme ranging from traditional carols to African -American spirituals
We are very much looking forward to welcoming our tenor soloist Michael Solomon Williams who is joining us specially for this concert along with choristers from the Priory Church, Bridlington
Tickets are £10 available from members, or at the door - free to students and under 16s
The dates and venues for concerts in 2018-19 are on the Scarborough Choral Society website www.scarboroughchoral.com .
