The sleepy little coastal village of Mellingham is in the news. The British Olympic Committee has just announced that Mellingham has been chosen to be the new headquarters and training base for the 2020 British Olympic sailing squad. This is the best result of a vigorous campaign by the Commodore of the Mellingham Yachting Club, Sir Roger Jolly, supported by the area's local Conservative MP Miss Sandy Bayes. It will necessitate a huge amount of building work in the village, with the harbour being redeveloped and a new indoor training centre being built. This will, in turn, mean the loss of some fine old cottages, but, as they say, progress is progress.

The development will have a major impact on the villagers, and everybody has gathered tonight to hear more and to see the plans. Local businessman Barney Kell and his former model wife Marina are here, along with many of the other villagers - Miss Ivy McGonagall will no doubt be looking for a bit of juicy gossip, while former fisherman Henry Morgan is likely to be his usual somewhat abrasive self. Then there is Sir Roger's younger brother, Bernard, himself once a promising yachtsman.

Of course not everybody is happy about the development, and environmental protestors are already in situ at the harbourside. And Sir Roger's great rival, the likeable single handed round-the-world yachtsman Ivor Hooke is somewhat disappointed by the fact that he has lost out to his nemesis once again.

More than one person is harbouring a grudge... but who would stoop to murder?

Begins 7pm priced at £27.95 per person, to include a 3 course evening meal.

Directed by Ian Dobson.

This funny, heart-warming sequel to the enormously successful, "Ladies Day" performed by WADS last Spring Bank, follows the four fish-factory lasses, Pearl, Jan, Shelley and Linda from Whitby on their adventures in Australia.

After hitting the jackpot at Ladies' Day in York, the fish-filleting foursome are celebrating in style with the trip of a lifetime to the land of Oz.

While Shelley dreams of luxury and glamour, the rest of the gang decide to go native and camp out under the stars at Uluru. But Shelley soon discovers there's more on offer than posh hotels, stunning beaches and sun-kissed surfers; and Pearl finds that she's got a mountain of her own to climb, a problem that she is loathe to share...
