Get Crazy Hair for patient care this October in aid of Saint Catherine’s!
Saint Catherine’s is encouraging everyone to bling up their bouffant, perk up their ponytail or whack on a wig this October for Crazy Hair Day 2019!
The fun-filled fundraiser is open to everyone – so gather a group of friends, family or workmates, choose a day in October to hold your event, and let your imagination run riot.
Participants are encouraged to create crazy hairstyles as a way of raising funds to support patient care. Everyone who takes part is encouraged to make a donation on the day.
You can also raise money by gathering sponsorship, setting up a Just Giving page or putting out collection buckets at your workplace.
Sian Cromack, hospice fundraiser, said: “Crazy Hair Day is fun way to raise much-needed funds for patient care and it’s open to everyone! So join us this October and let’s make it as crazy and colourful as possible.”

On Saturday 26th October all staff and volunteers will be dressed to impress on the treadmill between 9-4.30 asking for sponsors.

Great Run Local is a free, weekly, friendly running initiative organised by fantastic volunteers that can take place on any day and time of the week. Offering both 2km and 5km distances, our aim is to increase and encourage sport participation for all abilities and ages, from absolute beginners and families to more experienced regular runners.

All events are supported by trained volunteers including our fantastic Great Run Local event coordinators as well as first aid trained volunteers.

All our events provide a social start and finish area for participants to meet new people, interact with other runners, share their stories and offer encouragement to each other. The weekly runs provide participants with the opportunity to attend frequently and maintain the fitness benefits associated with running regularly.

With your own personal Great Run Local Tag ID, participants can also track their progression through our unique mobile app.

A weekly timed event that offers both 2km and 5km routes. The event is family friendly and runners, joggers and walkers are all encouraged to participate. Please note that this event is on the CCW Scoresby Site (Whitby Sixth Form). Participants are encouraged to register for a Great Run Local timing card or wristband. This event is FREE to participate in. This event is totally volunteer delivered, so please contact us if you would like to volunteer.

‘Autumn Daze’ is a celebration of all things autumnal in the beautiful surroundings of Peasholm Park. Visitors to the event are invited to try their hand at a whole range of free activities in and around the park.

Start at the Hidden Horizons tipi and bell tents based near the Buttercup Kiosk, take on the Autumn Scavenger Hunt around the park and collect the items you will need to create your very own celebration of Autumn.
Have a go at getting a fire started using a variety of traditional methods and toast yourself a marshmallow over the firepits. There will also be demonstrations of different bushcraft techniques for you to enjoy and get some inspiration for your seasonal trip to the woods.

Children’s story telling sessions will take place inside one of the cosy tents, get comfy on the big squashy beanbags and listen to enchanting tales of folklore and fantasy.

Make your way to the shelter near the Peasholm Café to join the ‘Peasholm Park Friends’ and ‘Animated Objects’ to enjoy seasonal craft activities and an art project with natural materials foraged from around the surrounding park and woodland.

Pumpkin Picking!

Come and join us at the farm to pick a pumpkin, carve it, and then take an exciting walk around our Halloween Spooky Trail. You can also meet the farm yard gang and enjoy our play area!

Esmerelda the Witch will also be visiting on selected dates for some friendly Halloween fun! Esmerelda will be welcome you in for a fun filled interactive Hallowe’en show, where you can prove just how spooky you are!” Come and choose your pumpkin, carve it out and enjoy our family friendly Hallowe’en fun on the farm.
