Saint Catherine’s is encouraging everyone to bling up their bouffant, perk up their ponytail or whack on a wig this October for Crazy Hair Day 2019!
The fun-filled fundraiser is open to everyone – so gather a group of friends, family or workmates, choose a day in October to hold your event, and let your imagination run riot.
Participants are encouraged to create crazy hairstyles as a way of raising funds to support patient care. Everyone who takes part is encouraged to make a donation on the day.
You can also raise money by gathering sponsorship, setting up a Just Giving page or putting out collection buckets at your workplace.
Sian Cromack, hospice fundraiser, said: “Crazy Hair Day is fun way to raise much-needed funds for patient care and it’s open to everyone! So join us this October and let’s make it as crazy and colourful as possible.”
To sign up for Crazy Hair Day, or for more details, email fundraising@saintcatherines.org.uk or call (01723) 378406.

Reiki Healing, is a form of energy healing, that can help with physical, mental and emotional problems, by clearing blocked energy points on your body. The drop in is so that people can come and have a chat and a taster session to see if this would help with any of their problems. I have seen significant results in clients with rheumatism, arthritis, back pain, migraines and chronic conditions such as Fibromyalgia. Come and see if we can help you.

Solid Entertainments Presents 'Whitby Rocks' with Zal Cleminson's Sin' Dogs, Ken Pustelnik's Groundhogs & Stray this October in the fabulous Northern Lights Suite.
The legendary Zal Cleminson is back with his new band /sin’dogs/, the band completed a successful debut tour of the UK in November/December 2017 and in early part of 2018 are recording a debut album.
Zal is widely respected for his work with The Sensational Alex Harvey Band providing incendiary guitar and writing on seminal albums such as NEXT, FRAMED, THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM, and others.
Zal has worked as a session musician touring with Elkie Brooks, Bonnie Tyler, and Midge Ure, with many respected guitarists have cited Zal as an influence.
Way back in the halcyon days of rock, there came a trio of 'superheroes' known as 'The Groundhogs', riding the blues boom into unchartered territory, they gained a reputation as one of the most dynamic live acts around, and are influential and inspirational to this day.
The classic line-up of Tony McPhee, Ken Pustelnik and Pete Cruickshank toured the world for 6 years straight, including seminal shows with the Rolling Stones, John Lee Hooker, John Mayall and Canned Heat, and at the legendary 1970 Isle of Wight festival along with Jimi Hendrix. In this time they produced 4 renowned albums: 'Blues Obituary', 'Thank Christ for the Bomb', 'Split' and 'Who Will Save the World'...
Stray were originally formed by four school friends back in 1966! By 1970 they released their first album simply titled “STRAY” and were a hugely popular act on the club scene in the UK and Europe. Stray are still one of the hardest gigging and excellent live acts on the circuit. With a career spanning over thirty years, 11 studio albums, 4 live albums and a DVD recorded live at London’s Borderline club. Their most recent studio album titled ‘Valhalla’, released on Angel Air Records, received the best reviews of their career and was voted album of the year by ‘Get Ready to Rock’ magazine. While in Japan In February 2013, they recorded 2 shows and consequently a “Live in Japan” cd was released in March 2014 on Angel Air Records. With founder member Del Bromham on guitar and vocals, the band will play a selection of songs, which they have recorded over the years.

Love. Hate. Good. Evil. Nature. Nurture. Mag lives in a rustic cabin in the Canadian wilds, far from neighbours and further from her past. But when her estranged daughter Beth turns up on the doorstep having been freshly released from prison, the past becomes terrifyingly present. And it has teeth.
Beth came to ask Mag a question. But is she prepared for the answer? Can they really settle their scores? And can Mag keep an innocent party from being destroyed in the crossfire?
As a blizzard closes in and dangerous words are traded, Mag accepts a challenge from a most unexpected source and lights a fuse that looks set to blow both women sky high.
Written by Oliver Emanuel (The 306 Trilogy) and directed by the Traverse’s Gareth Nicholls (Ulster American), The Monstrous Heart is thrilling, chilling and witty, examining afresh the eternal question of whether we ever really change how we’re made.
Is it possible to kill our old selves and create someone new and better in their place?
