Scarborough Spa
South Bay
Scarborough
YO11 2HD

The last remaining professional seaside orchestra continues a seaside tradition that dates back to 1912.

We invite you to sit back, relax and enjoy a performance by some of the most versatile musicians you are ever likely to find.

As always, our morning concerts will present music on the lighter, brighter side with plenty of familiar tunes and jaunty rhythms, balanced by romantic melodies, stirring marches, lilting waltzes – and so much more to entertain you.

All morning concerts are performed within the elegant Suncourt Enclosure with Scarborough's stunning South Bay as the back-drop. If the weather is inclement, don’t worry, we simply move inside!

Our concerts still offer excellent value but if you have never experienced a Scarborough Spa Orchestra we invite you to one of our Sunday morning concerts where you can Pay What You Like! (Recommended Donation £3)

We look forward to meeting our audiences throughout the season, renewing old friendships and making new ones as we aim to introduce more and more people to the wonderful music played by the Legendary Scarborough Spa Orchestra.

There is no better way to spend a relaxing morning in Scarborough!

We hope to see you this Summer.

Well! We’ve got a budding star dropping in to see us, the scorchingly amazing Beth Macari will be making the trip down from Newcastle to play for you. Lucky you!
Beth Macari releases stunning piano ballad “One More Time” Having had almost 200,000 streams of her debut release on her new record label,
Geordie pop soulstress Beth Macari is back with her second follow up single of the summer.
Recorded at Newcastle’s legendary Cluny Studios in the Ouseburn Valley, ‘One More Time’ is an epic ballad that represents an artist at the peak of her powers and was released on all good digital stockists in June.
Sonically powerful, beautifully poignant and highly emotive, this track is without a doubt Beth’s most ambitious to date complete with a stunning and heart rendering vocal that is more than worthy of the national media acclaim
she continues to receive.
Following the success of Beth’s previous single “Stronger” – which was Gaby Roslin’s Track of The Week on BBC Radio London – Beth illustrates her more tender side on ‘One More Time’ and faces the soul destroying possibility of losing a loved one. “It was the most emotional I have ever been in a studio. I am used to writing
sassy songs, so recording this was a different vibe altogether,” explains Beth.
“It happened really quickly, I think I had all this sadness inside of me I just needed to release. You can hear my voice crack in the drop down chorus, that was me holding back some tears. I wanted this to be real and a reflection of
where I was at when I wrote it.
‘One More Time’ is for anyone who has lost someone, there is no worse feeling.”
Beth was selected by BBC Introducing to perform at their “New Year, New Artist”
showcase at the iconic Sage, Gateshead in January, which was also aired on Tom Robinson’s show on BBC 6 Music.
She followed this with a short tour supporting Davina Michelle and was invited back to
SoFar Sounds Liverpool for their “Best Of” show
following her first appearance there in 2018.
So are you ready for Beth Macari Scarborough?

Stephen Joseph Theatre

When families get together to celebrate a special occasion, there’s a danger that all hell will break loose. Particularly if you happen to be trapped for several days with all your relatives and copious amounts of alcohol...

Neville and Belinda are hosting their extended family over a long weekend. The presence of two tyrannical uncles – Bernard, whose ham-fisted annual puppet shows are a source of dread to young and old alike, and TV addict Harvey – promises to stir up trouble from the start. And that’s before you add to the mix broken toys, creaking marriages and guest novelist Clive, whose relationship with Belinda’s sister Rachel is going nowhere, causing him to look for love elsewhere.

Directed by the author, this is the first time that the Stephen Joseph Theatre has staged Season’s Greetings since its premiere here in 1980. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see a sparkling new production of a classic Ayckbourn comedy.

L. Frank Baum’s classic novel comes to life in The Wizard of Oz. This faithful adaptation by the Royal Shakespeare Company features all the most beloved songs and moments from the 1939 classic film, brought to life onstage. Young Dorothy Gale is swept away by a tornado from her Kansas farm to the magical land of Oz. There, she encounters a host of whimsical characters: good witches, bad witches, animals that talk, scarecrows that walk, and things magical to behold. To find her way home, she must journey along the Yellow Brick Road to see the mysterious and all-powerful Wizard in Emerald City. Along the way, she makes new friends, but must also brave many dangers, including the Wicked Witch of the West, who will stop at nothing to get her hands on Dorothy’s magical ruby slippers. To make it home safely, Dorothy must learn an important lesson: there’s no place like home.
