The Plough Inn, Scalby is hosting a charity raffle/auction night on Tuesday 5th February in aid of Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. General Manager Mark and Assistant Manager Tom are both running the London Marathon in April. They have the task to raise £4000 for this great cause. The Yorkshire Regiment are Recruiting in Scarborough. Come along and meet real soldiers and find our what your local, county regiment can offer you as a regular or reserve Infantry soldier.

As part of the Army’s front line team, you will take part in all kinds of operations – from peace keeping and disaster relief to full scale war. You won’t do this on your own though. You’ll work and train alongside other highly skilled soldiers – who’ll become your family. This team spirit is vital in combat, and you will make friends for life. Together, you’ll take on all kinds of challenges worldwide, including Adventurous Training. With the chance to gain qualifications, you will learn and move up the ranks too.
