This weekend is all about fun! We have a huge range of beers at the festival, a hog roast, bouncy castle, incredible bands including an X factor contestant, our star guest is professor Nicholas Stafford, the founder of The Daisy Appeal charity. The Daisy Appeal is a fantastic local charity and we want to push it.

The Daisy Charity was started in 2002, it's intention being to improve the medical research and development agenda locally. It's first project was the construction and equipping of the Daisy Research building on the Castle Hill Hospital site, at a total cost of 8.5million pounds. The facility was opened by the Rt Hon Alan Johnson in 2008. Following it's success the Charity went on to raise a further 4.5 million for the Jack Brignall PET-CT Scanning Centre, also at Castle Hill and opened in 2013. The Centre offers state of the art PET scanning, a relatively new imaging technique with applications in cancer, heart and various neurological diseases. It is now scanning over 2,800 cases per year. The Charity is currently fund raising for a Molecular Imaging Research Centre which will be sited immediately adjacent to the scanning facility. The MIRC will allow the onsite production both currently available and new, locally developed radio tracers which will widen the application of PET-CT for use in a wide spectrum of diseases including Alzheimer's, various coronary vessel and heart muscle diseases and cancer. The Centre will house a new type of cyclotron which produces the radiotracers and will be the global reference site for this ground breaking site. It is going to cost 6.8million, 5.5 million of which has already been secured.

The cruise leaves the north pier of Bridlington Harbour YO15 2PB

All the family will enjoy these special RSPB Puffin & Gannet Cruises which sail from the North Pier at Bridlington Harbour.

For approximately three hours immerse yourselves in the wonders of nature with awe inspiring views of the rugged Yorkshire coastline, “up front and personal” encounters with a range of fish and marine mammals such as seals and porpoises, and take a front row seat in the spectacular sea bird arena underneath the 400-feet high chalk cliffs at Bempton and Flamborough Head where 250,000 seabirds set up their home for the summer.

Challenge your friends and family to spot the ever endearing puffins on the cliffs where they nest in the rock crevices or watch the show as these little clowns with their bright orange beaks bob around in the water by the boat.

Watch the graceful gannets with their 6-foot wingspan as they soar overhead, get deafened by the noise of the kittiwakes with wings that look as if the tips have been dipped in ink and gaze with wonder at how the amazing razorbills and guillemots balance with their young on the narrow cliff ledges.

With RSPB seabird experts from the East Yorkshire local group on board to help you maximize your enjoyment and answer any questions, plus a full range of refreshments and amenities on the Yorkshire Belle, this experience is not to be missed.

Pre booking required. Call the Seabird Cruise Line on 01262 422211
Adults £22.00 children (16 and under) £11.00
