North Yorkshire libraries will be encouraging people to #try1thing as part of Get Online Week from 15 to 21 October.

There are 4.3 million people in the UK with no basic digital skills. Get Online Week aims to address that, giving them the opportunity to find the help they need to improve their skills.

North Yorkshire libraries will hold a range of classes and drop-in sessions during the week to provide the chance for everyone to learn something new. Whether people need help getting started with a tablet, want to know more about coding or are interested in researching their family history, the local library will be able to help.

North Yorkshire County Councillor Greg White, Executive Member for Libraries, said: “Many people still struggle with digital skills, making it more difficult for them to access information for hobbies and interests as well as the many online services offered by the County Council and other public bodies. Libraries are friendly, welcoming places, making them the ideal place to try something new.”

Contact your local library to find out more and to book a place.

Staff and friends of the Bay Norbreck Hotel are going to be doing a Memory Walk raising funds for the Alzheimer's Society. Dementia effects thousands of people throughout the UK and we would like to help their research into finding cures and support for those living with the illness.

The Walk starts at the Bay New Southlands Hotel on Sunday 21st October at 11am. We will ask you to join us from 10.30am so we can take your details and ensure you have the full details of the walk and meet others who you will be walking with.

Please get in touch if you wish to join us. The walk is from the Bay New Southlands, towards the Italian Gardens, along the clifftop then down under Valley Bridge. We will walk the headland road before making the walk back up to the Bay Norbreck Hotel where complimentary Tea, Coffee and snacks will be available for all walkers.

As this walk does take in some of the amazing coastline with live on (with a few steep inclines) any walkers who feel they cannot do the full route can continue via the town center over Valley Bridge and meet us at the hotel.

Dogs are welcome on the walk however we are unable to accept dogs in our hotels unless they are assistance dogs.

I look forward to meeting you all!!!

Suggs: What a King Cnut, A Life in the Realm of Madness

Sunday 21st October, 2018 7:30pm to 9:45pm

Tel: 01723 821888

Email: SpaEnquiries@siv.org.uk

Web: http://www.ScarboroughSpa.co.uk

Scarborough Spa
South Bay
North Yorkshire
YO11 2HD

Due to huge popular demand, after his first tour-de-force, smash hit, sell out tour, ‘My Life Story’, Suggs is treading the boards again with a brand new show.

If the first show was about how on Earth he got there, Suggs: What a King Cnut is about the surprises that awaited him when he did.

Vertigo on the roof of Buckingham Palace, nearly blowing the closing ceremony of the Olympics , the embarrassing stuff that happened at Glastonbury.

Things have gone a smidge surreal since the Madness frontman was a twelve year old in shorts on the tough streets of North London.

Constantly expecting that inevitable tap on the shoulder to hear ‘what are you doing here, Sunshine?’ how has he got this far? In this business you can be washed up at any minute. How has he managed to get away with it for so long?

Fame is a tightrope and Suggs has fallen off many times.

With help from Deano his trusty pianist, he tells his story in words and music with the help of some Madness classics and a couple more what he wrote all on himself.

Every Wednesday Westborough Spiritual and Healing Centre holds an Open Circle. It runs from 7pm-8pm. We always have a visiting medium who brings messages of love, light and peace from our loved ones in the spirit world through their clairvoyance.

This is also a great opportunity to see how mediumship works and as it's an 'open' circle it gives anyone who's developing their own psychic and mediumistic skills the chance to give any messages they may wish to pass onto others.

There are always committee members on hand should you have any queries about any of our services, our special events that pop up throughout the year or any support we can provide.

Do please pop along and find out a little more about what we do. You're always assured of a warm and friendly welcome within our centre.

Admission is £2 (over 16s ONLY), which is inclusive of refreshments.

Our regular weekly Services are:

Wednesday: Open Circle - 7pm-8pm (£2 admission)
Saturday: Clairvoyant Service - 7pm-8pm (donations only)
Sunday: Divine Service - 6.30pm-8pm {donations only)

We hold regular spiritual healing services at 2pm-3pm on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and Thursday evenings 7pm-9pm.

As a non-profit organisation all proceeds go strictly to the running of our centre so that we may keep the doors open to all those who seek the peace, the light, the friendship and support within.
