NEW OPPORTUNITY! We are looking to appoint a delivery driver. The role is to deliver SWC’s products to customers based in regional destinations, ensuring that this is done in a safe and professional manner using our fleet of 7.5 tonne wagons.

Job Description - DRIVER Post: Driver Employer: SWC Trade Frames Limited Responsible To: Transport Manager Contract Type: Permanent Hours: Up to 40 hours per week usually 05.30am – 1.30pm. Please note that these are not fixed hours and that flexibility will be needed on occasion to meet varying production/delivery needs. Background Information SWC Trade Frames has been family run since 1989 & is a Quality Assured Company that manufactures high quality PVCu and Aluminium products including casement & sash windows, residential & bi-folding doors, conservatories & orangeries. A previous holder of the prestigious national industry "Fabricator of the Year" Award, SWC is also known for it's proven track record of being a modern, progressive, customer focussed business.    Job Purpose The purpose of this post is to deliver SWC’s products to customers based in regional destinations, ensuring that this is done in a safe and professional manner. Main Duties and Responsibilities Quality management System (QMS) Comply with Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) Contribute to Quality System reviews and give feedback for improvements to the SOPs and the Quality Management System (QMS) to your line manager Report all non-conformance to line manager Main Duties Delivering PVCu & Aluminium windows, doors, conservatory roofing systems and glass units in SWC vehicles to the stated delivery address. Always operate within good health & safety practices as within your Handbooks Undertake daily walk-around checks prior to driving and at the end of the shift to ensure that the vehicle is safe and compliant with current legislation. Log any defects prior to leaving base & report concerns or damage to line manager on a daily basis. Ensure that loads are checked and safely secured prior to leaving site so as not to cause hazard or injury. Assist with the loading & unloading of products as required both at SWC & at the point of delivery. Adhere to WTD & tachograph requirements at all times. Submit fuel receipts and tachograph information daily. Complete any necessary paperwork in relation to the needs of the post daily e.g. delivery note signing, driver summary sheet, defect sheets etc. Manage the collection & return of products to SWC within specified guidelines. Assist with cheque collection at the request of the finance department within specified guidelines when required. Take responsibility for maintaining the cleanliness of your allocated vehicle Participate in individual training opportunities relevant to the post and team objectives. Support cover arrangements as requested by your line manager. Conduct yourself in a well presented, courteous and professional manner at all times. Any additional responsibility that becomes a regular or frequent part of the post will be reviewed and included on an amended job description and person specification in consultation with the post holder Person Requirements – DRIVER Qualifications Good standard of general education to GCSE, or level 2 equivalent including English & Maths. Full driving licence C1 + C1E CPC – Full completion of driver CPC qualification Skills Sound interpersonal and communication skills Sound driving skills including vehicle handling and reversing techniques Excellent customer care skills Ability to work using initiative & follow company guidelines & procedures Ability to work on own as well as part of a team Organisational skills Competent written and number skills Competent administration skills Experience 3 years previous driving experience of driving 7.5 tonne vehicles Experience of driving 18 tonne vehicles Experience of undertaking multi drop deliveries Experience of tachograph management - digital tachos Knowledge Geographical awareness Mechanical knowledge Roping and strapping loads safely Safe moving and handling techniques Health and safety in the workplace Attributes Friendly and outgoing personality Courteous Conscientious & hardworking Reliable Flexible IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN A FAMILY BUSINESS IN SCARBOROUGH RING MICHELLE OR EMMA IN TEAM HR!
