With over 100,000 visitors a year, Bempton Cliffs is a very busy reserve. We deliver a range of 60-minute wildlife walks throughout the year and need walk leaders to help us do this.

With over 100,000 visitors a year, Bempton Cliffs is a very busy reserve. We deliver a range of 60-minute wildlife walks throughout the year and need walk leaders to help us do this. Walk subjects include butterflies, shipwrecks, puffins, cultural history and geology.

The skills you need

Essential

Desirable

Approachable, with a friendly demeanour

Knowledge of how to use a telescope correctly and efficiently

Love of the outdoors

Knowledge of some RSPB work and a familiarity with Bempton Cliffs

Ability to walk along cliff top paths in all weathers

Own transport

Confidence to initiate conversations with and talk to members of the public

Experience of working with the public

Ability to communicate well and listen

 

Enthusiasm for wildlife and conservation

 

Willingness to learn and relay accurate information (which will be provided)

 

Willingness to undertake appropriate training and personal development
