To oversee the day-to-day logistics to manage the efficient and effective short, medium planning of potato supply for the manufacturing sites. Ensure what we deliver is to the customer requirements in the most cost effective manner.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  1. To review the three-week rolling plan, in aid to organise the day-to-day effective schedule, by validating and maximising available tonnages and to confirming quality delivered.
  2. Drive cost efficiencies by understanding the bigger picture of quality, contract movement, location to ensure movement is made at the right time, quality and cost.
  3. Ensure the approved schedule and quality is communicated appropriately to key stakeholders on a daily basis.  
  4. Amend the schedule as required to react to receiving, production or supply problems, to ensure that the weekly plan is still met and minimises waste within receiving.
  5. Build and maintain an effective relationship with all suppliers and grower group coordinators, for confirmation of expected quality and to advise of required product and volumes and ensure on time delivery in line with the schedule.
  6. Develop and maintain an effective relationship between receiving and production, to ensure supply throughout the building, working with receiving to investigate issues and ensure 100% compliance with factory procedures.
  7. Work with the Potato Procurement Manager to ensure that the product available in stores fulfil the production criteria before booking into the schedule.
  8. Work closely with hauliers to plan deliveries in line with the schedule, monitoring performance and escalating issues if deliveries are not made to plan.
  9. Liaise with the Potato Supply Administration team, to ensure that grower contracts are approved and on the system in a timely manner to enable scheduling of loads.


  1. Experience of managing and sourcing supply in a fast moving dynamic environment - Essential
  2. Experience and knowledge of servicing the food manufacturing industry - Desirable
  3. Experience of administration and computer systems - Essential

  2. Sound commercial knowledge of the produce industry - Desirable
