A Support Worker is required for a minimum of 10 hours per week, to support a young gentleman with early onset Dementia. Some extra hours are available for 2 evenings per month.

A Support Worker is required for a minimum of 10 hours per week, to support a young gentleman with early onset Dementia so he can retain his independence as long as possible. Some extra hours are available for 2 evenings per month to sit with the gentleman to allow his parent some respite hours.

The successful applicant would be required to work a guaranteed 10 hours per week, and will be expected to cover holidays and sickness of other Support Worker. This position requires some flexibility to meet future needs.

The hours are: 9.30 - 10.30 am & 5.30 -6.30 pm Saturday and Sunday, plus 2 hours to be used flexible on either weekend day. Other hours are Monday and Tuesday afternoons 2 hours each day to take the gentleman out. All hours can be flexible to suit both.

The applicant must have a clean UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle, so that the gentleman can continue fitness and social activities he enjoys such as swimming, cycling and fitness sessions; the applicant would also be expected to provide appropriate support with shopping, meal preparation, light household duties, prompt and supervise his personal care to ensure his independence is supported at all times.

Experience in support work would be an advantage, although not essential.

The rate of pay is £9.00 per hour and there is a mileage allowance of 28p per mile. (Whilst with the gentleman)
