A consultancy business based in Knaresborough is currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to support their finance team on a 6 months fixed term contract, potentially this could be extended.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic team, assisting the Finance Manager with all financial administration of the division including; sales and purchase ledger, reporting and month end procedures.

Key responsibilities for the successful Assistant Accountant will include:

  • Issuing and managing sales invoicing process
  • Bank Reconciliations and cash posting
  • Purchase ledger transactions including checking and processing staff expenses
  • Month end Journals as required by the Finance Manager
  • Support to the Finance Manager for ad-hoc analysis
  • Support the Finance Manager with reporting


This role is based in Knaresborough and is commutable from surrounding areas such as; Harrogate, York and Ripon.  

We are keen to speak with individuals who have previous experience in an Assistant Accountant role, you may have also worked as a Finance Officer or Finance Assistant in a multi-skilled finance role.

The Assistant Accountant will be using Sage software and MS Excel daily so it is essential that candidates have previous experience using Sage or a similar accountancy package, as well as being a confident user of MS Excel.
