A Support Worker is required to support a young gentleman with early onset Dementia so he can retain his independence as long as possible for 10 hours per week.

A Support Worker is required to support a young gentleman with early onset Dementia so he can retain his independence as long as possible.

The successful applicant would be required to work guaranteed 10 hours per week, and to cover holidays and sickness of other Support Worker. This position requires some flexibility to meet future needs.

The hours are: 9.30 - 10.30 am & 5.30 -6.30 pm Saturday and Sunday, plus 2 hours to be used flexible on either weekend day. Other hours are Monday and Tuesday afternoons 2 hours each day to take the gentleman out.

The applicant must have a clean UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle, so that the gentleman can continue fitness and social activities he enjoys such as swimming, cycling and fitness sessions; the applicant would also be expected to provide appropriate support with shopping, meal preparation, light household duties, prompt and supervise his personal care to ensure his independence is supported at all times.

Experience in support work would be an advantage, although not essential.

The rate of pay is £8.57 per hour and there is a mileage allowance of 28p per mile. (Whilst with the gentleman)
