The Rainbow Centre...

The Rainbow Centre ScarboroughThe Rainbow Centre in Scarborough was established in 1997, the project was set up to address the issues faced by homeless people and to offer practical support to vulnerable people in the Scarborough area. Now the Rainbow Centre supports well over 400 community members - including the homeless, families in crisis and individuals facing challenges due to a history of substance misuse poverty or returning from prison.

Scarborough RNLIThe RNLI have saved over 142,200 lives at sea since 1824 and much like the Mountain Rescue the RNLI provide an on call 24 hour service and rely on volunteers and supporters to run the service. The Scarborough lifeboat station is one of the oldest station still in operation.

The volunteer crew members give their time for free, but they need training, well-maintained equipment, lifeboats and shore facilities. As well as saving lives, the RNLI also aim to influence, supervise and educate people too.
