The Rainbow Centre...

The Rainbow Centre ScarboroughThe Rainbow Centre in Scarborough was established in 1997, the project was set up to address the issues faced by homeless people and to offer practical support to vulnerable people in the Scarborough area. Now the Rainbow Centre supports well over 400 community members - including the homeless, families in crisis and individuals facing challenges due to a history of substance misuse poverty or returning from prison.

McCain regularly support the Rainbow Centre throughout the year by collecting toys, clothes, food items and unwanted gifts as well as hosting charity events to raise money for this much needed cause.

Through a range of activities Basics Plus is making a significant contribution to the regions rapidly expanding social economy.

RNLI...

Scarborough RNLIThe RNLI have saved over 142,200 lives at sea since 1824 and much like the Mountain Rescue the RNLI provide an on call 24 hour service and rely on volunteers and supporters to run the service. The Scarborough lifeboat station is one of the oldest station still in operation.

The volunteer crew members give their time for free, but they need training, well-maintained equipment, lifeboats and shore facilities. As well as saving lives, the RNLI also aim to influence, supervise and educate people too. The Scarborough RNLI recently launched their Swim Safe programme, the free programme offers swimming and water safety sessions for children aged between 7-14 years old and has taught over 11,600 children across the UK how to enjoy swimming outdoors safely.

Mountain Rescue...
