Proud To Support The Rainbow Centre...

The Rainbow Centre ScarboroughThe Rainbow Centre in Scarborough is another good cause that has been supported by McCain for a number of years. Established in 1997, the project was set up to address the issues faced by homeless people and to offer practical support to vulnerable people in Scarborough Area. Now the Rainbow Centre now supports well over 400 community members - including the homeless, families in crisis and individuals facing challenges due to a history of substance misuse poverty or returning from prison.

Help and support is provided to those in need on a whole range of issues, including accommodation, benefits, job availability, medical needs, physical and sexual abuse, rehabilitation, practical help (bedding, furniture, clothes, blankets for rough sleepers etc. etc.), or any number of diverse and varied problems.  There is a shower room, laundry, television lounge and community cafe. The Centre also provides emergency clothing and food parcels for those in crisis.

The Rainbow Centre ScarboroughThroughout the year McCain’s Customer Relations team collects toys, clothes, food items and unwanted gifts for the Rainbow Centre. At Christmas they delivered sixteen boxes and 14 bags later, of wonderful goodies to the charity, who were incredibly grateful and were able to share everything out to the individuals and families who needed it most. They were also able to give the Rainbow Centre a cash donation of over £200, which was raised at a business conference.

In the Scarborough floods recently, the Rainbow Centre lost lots of their donations, and were in desperate need of everything especially clothes, bedding, quilts and of course food items. McCain employees have played a huge part in getting their supplies back up.
