YOU CAN TRAIN TO BE A PRIMARY OR A SECONDARY TEACHER WITH SCARBOROUGH TEACHING ALLIANCE

The Scarborough Teaching Alliance offer the School Direct training programme, leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) awarded by the University of Hull. Courses last one year, full time and trainees are based in good and outstanding schools around the Yorkshire Coast.

Applications are currently open for our training programmes which commence in Autumn 2019.

Primary PGCE - Lower Primary (3-7 years)

Offering placements in nursery, reception an Key Stage 1.  Students access the well-regarded advanced early years PGCE provided by the University of Hull, leading to Qualified Teacher Status.

PRIMARY PGCE - Upper PRIMARY (5-11 YEARS)

Offering placements in Key Stage 1 & 2 classes in a range of schools, reflecting the diversity of the communities served by our alliance schools. Sudents access the well-regarded primary PGCE provided by the University of Hull, leading to Qualified Teacher Status.

Secondary PGCE

Offering places on our School Direct programme with PGCE, accredited by the University of Hull. We offer a range of subjects, usually including English, maths, science and modern foreign languages. Bursaries are available for key subjects.
