Goldwing Rowers

Yorkshire Rows bikesOrganisers of the Scarborough GoldWing Light Parade have announced that Yorkshire Rows, the four record holding Yorkshire mums who rowed across the Atlantic, will be in Scarborough to help support the RNLI Scarborough Lifeboats by starting the GoldWing Light Parade at 8.00pm on Saturday 10th September 2016.

The mobile illuminations show is an evening parade of GoldWing motorcycles and trikes each illuminated with show lights.

Event organiser John Bates said:

“Some of our team met the Yorkshire Rows ladies last year to support their efforts and to promote our 2015 RNLI charity event in Scarborough.  However, I was amazed and then excited when they accepted our invitation to come to Scarborough and officially start our charity light parade later this year”

The four Yorkshire mums Janette Benaddi, Helen Butters, Niki Doeg and Frances Davies achieved their dream by successfully rowing the 3000 miles wide Atlantic Ocean, arriving in Antigua in 67 days picking up a world record for the oldest women to row any ocean.
