The 35th Rotary Crown Tavern Walk

The Rotary Crown Tavern Walk is a great Yorkshire Coast tradition.

It happens every May. This is the 35th year.

There’s two walks – 22 miles from Hawsker to the Crown Tavern in Scarborough or the shorter route - 8 miles from Hayburn Wyke back to the Crown Tavern. John Williams was the first finisher on the long walk, completing 22 miles in 3 hours 54 minutes.

Loads of local childrens' charities benefit from the fundraising including Scarborough Disabled Swimming Group, Scarborough Mencap, the Junior and Senior Gateway, Epilepsy Action, Riding For Disabled and the blind and deaf societies.

This year's total stands at £6100! How that money is shared out will be decided next month.
