Nursing Training Returns to Scarborough

hospital bedFrom next year, you'll be able to train as a nurse in Scarborough for the first time in 25 years.

CU Scarborough – Coventry University’s new campus on the Yorkshire coast - is now launching  a new Adult Nursing degree programme, working alongside the NHS.

Kay Fraser is Head of Curriculum for Health & Education at CU Scarborough,  Dianne Swiers is the Project Lead for Recruitment & Retention at the NHS Scarborough & Ryedale CCG.

They talk about the new degree programme and why it's important for both the NHS and the local area.

Why The Dementia Appeal Is So Important

Dementia Appeal

One Hundred clocks, Two hundred magnetic flowers and five hundred blue toilet seats.

It's not a massive version of the generation game, they are in fact just some of the items that the York Teaching Hospital Charity hopes to purchase for Scarborough and Bridlington Hospitals, with funds from their current Dementia Appeal.

And the appeal is now also being backed by private sector care organisation, St Cecilia's.

Matthew Pells has been talking about the appeal with Mike Padgham from St Cecilia's along with Suzi King from Scarborough Hospital and Maya Richardson from the York Teaching Hospital Charity......
