Monday 5th July

I was at the family fun day in Filey on Sunday morning doing my show live. Great day and loads of people turned up to enjoy the fun in Glen Gardens. The Hunmamby Terreir Racing Team were their on the day raising money for St Catherines Hospice, I caught up with Peter Robson today who told me they raised over £100 for the Hospice.

Saturday 12th June

I was at the new Co-operative food store, Martongate in Bridlington this morning. We gave away £500 worth of vouchers to spend in store. Well done to Carl Ashby, Heather Barret, Marlene Clayton & Cynthia Farrington who all won £125 worth of vouchers each by playing 'good with music'. See pictures below -

The talking point today was fads or crazies that we went through at school. I used to wear odd socks, don't know why we just did. So what was it for you - fluffy pencil cases, Flintstones transphers, badges on blazers, Smash Hits Magazine and black socks with a rubber band to hold them up!

It's the final of Give a Gnome a Home this Saturday where 10 finalists will bring their gnomes along to Eastfield Garden Centre and one of them will win £500 in vouchers to spend in store.

We heard from Simon Hayhurst and his Dad who are off to Tanzania to climb mount Kilimanjaro and have raised £8000 for Yorkshire Cancer Research. It will take them aprox severn days to reach the top.

I had a call from Mick Walker from the Katie Walker Cancer Trust who wanted to thank Brid Cruise who organised a car rally at the weekend. It was held at Legends Cafe and raised very nearly £500. The money will help fund getting people from around the world together to share ideas on how to beat cancer.

I was broadcasting live at the McCain Yorkshire Coast 10k road race and 2.5k family fun run today. It was a brilliant morning in the sunshine outside the Spa in Scarborough. I even got a chat with Sally Gunnell - listen below.

NASA crashed a rocket into the moon at 12.31pm today. Minutes before this event I spoke to a Professor from NASA who told us how we could see a meteor shower just after the event. Listen to me talk to Professor Pickles below.

I spoke to Peter Jay from Bridlington Lions today who are supporting World Sight Day on Thursday by inviting people to join them in the Promenades Shopping Centre between 12 and 1pm for a 'Blindfold Walk' to experience the difficulities faced by those without sight.

I spoke to Sharron the manager of the St Catherines Hospice Shop in Cross Street Bridlington about their week long sale of collectables they have next week, Sharron says they have something for everyone - go take a look for yourself. I'm off to the Gold Cup Motor Bike Races at Olivers Mount tomorrow. It's the last race of the season so it should be a good one. Guy Martin has won the event for the past 6 years - will he do it again and what makes him so special? I hope to have a chat with him tomorrow. I had to have a new driving licence photo taken in town last night, i was reading through the booklet that comes with the renewal and some of the things it tells you not to do seems daft. For example 'you must have your eyes open' and 'you must be facing forward when looking at the camera'. Daft or what. Happy weekend.

Beverly Knight is back with a brand new album called 100%. I had a listen to the album last night and it's very good. I saw her live supporting Take That a couple of years ago and she really new how to warm the crowd up.

As we are giving away a holiday to Mederia in our Grand Summer Tour I thought I would take a bit of Mederia to Brid today and gave away slices of Mederia cake this morning to anyone who entered. It brightened up a damp Wednesday in Brid.
