After 130 years the future of the Scarborough Evening News as a daily newspaper is unclear.

It is reported that the owners of the paper, Johnston Press, say the company's future lies "beyond print".

They also have not denied that the Scarborough paper could cease to come out every day.

Several local papers across the country have moved from daily to weekly editions in recent months.

Last month the Whitby Gazette, which is also owned by Johnston Press, went from twice weekly to once a week last month.
