New Options Considered To Protect Scarborough Statue

11:54am 27th January 2012.

Scarborough's been coming together after one of the town's landmarks was vandalised.

The statue of Freddie Gilroy on the North Bay was covered in yellow paint last night and is now being cleaned.

Now Tony Viney from the town has put in a hundred pounds with his brother for information to find who did it.

He tells us why he feels he has to take action.

Since then Scarborough Council leader Tom Fox has matched the £100 and police have told us a local businessman has donated £500.

The council's also been talking about how to stop this happening again.

Councillor David Jeffels runs us through some of the options.
