Six walkers have been rescued while doing the Lyke Wake Walk near Whitby.

Two women in the group became ill while the group were out on Sunday night.

They were then stuck on Jugger Ravine, which is between Fylingdales and Ravenscar, in freezing temperatures

The Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team and the RAF helicopter were called out just before 7pm to help.

By 8.30pm all six walkers had been rescued and the two women had been taken to Scarborough Hospital.

All are now safe and well.
