Newby Meeting on Streetlight Switch-Off
26th November 2012 7:25 am
People in Newby are being invited to find out more later about streetlights being turned off through the night in the new year.
The North Yorkshire County Councilor for Newby, Andrew Backhouse, says nearly half of them will go in the residential areas.
He says at the drop-in session tonight, people will be able to look at maps and find out which lights are going off and where.
He also says any good reasons to keep certain lights on will be listened to.
It takes place at St Mark's Community Hall between 6pm and 8pm.
