Flamborough Pre-School Boxing Day Dip raises £1,627

Christmas may be nine months away but organisers of the Flamborough Pre-School Boxing Day Dip have already started preparations for this year’s event, and Pirates of The Caribbean is the theme they have chosen.

With all sponsorship money now kindly handed in from the 2014 event the grand amount raised for the local preschool has totalled a fantastic £1,627

2015 will see the Pre-School celebrating its seventh Boxing Day Dip anniversary and organisers are hoping that this year’s event will create an even bigger splash of cash for the village Pre-school, with The Ship Hotel Flamborough coming on board and pledging their support.

Since the first dip in 2009, the event has raised much needed funds for Flamborough Pre-School.

Carrie-Ann Taylor, Committee Chairperson at the Pre-school and one of the organisers of the event, said: “Each year the event has grown in popularity and we are delighted that it has now become part of the festive calendar for the local community whilst helping raise vital funds for the Pre-school.

“I would like to thank everyone who took part and helped raise £1,627 which will be put towards enhancing the Pre-School provision.

“Our aim is for Boxing Day to be a day that local people really look forward to, full of lots of community activity and traditions.

“We are very grateful to the Longsword dancers and of course all our dippers and spectators.” for their continuing support

Flamborough Doctors Surgery

A doctor attends this small branch  surgery on a rota basis Monday to Friday at 2.00pm. There is no appointment system, so please  be prompt as the doctor leaves when all waiting patients have been seen. While  most medical problems can be dealt with here, occasionally the doctor may ask  you to attend the Bridlington Surgery, where there are better facilities for examination  and investigation, and where your main medical notes are kept. A Nurse also attends every Tuesday and Friday at 2.00pm for dressings, injections, ear wash-outs  and general advice. Cervical smears and immunisations can be carried out at Flamborough,  provided you ring the Bridlington Surgery in advance to let us know you are coming. Read more...
