New 101 Non-Urgent Police Number For Humberside Police
8th November 2011 2:33 pm
Humberside Police now have a new non emergency number 101, which replaces the current 0845 60 60 222 number.
In January this year all 43 Chief Constables agreed at an ACPO council to adopt 101 as the new police non-emergency number. The role out started in July 2011 and will continue until January 2012, with all of the existing non emergency numbers to cease in March 2012.
Humberside Police will be launching the new 101 non emergency number alongside Lincolnshire, West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Nottinghamshire. North Yorkshire will be launching 101 in early December.
101, was originally launched in 2006 as a number used by local authorities to report ASB and has now been redesigned to enable the public to report crime and disorder, which doesn’t need an emergency response.
As part of the campaign posters will be displayed on buses across the force area.
All information on 101 can be found by visiting the Home Office at www.homeoffice.gov.uk/101. Read more...
