The Child Contact Centre at Pavilion Square in Scarborough offers children from separated families along the Yorkshire Coast, the chance to meet with an absent parent.
They need volunteers to help run contact sessions.

Bridwatch helps tackle crime in Bridlington, providing advice and information to individuals and Neighbourhood Watch groups at their base at No1 Horsforth Avenue.
The organisation is funded by the shop at Horsforth Avenue. They're looking for volunteers to work a couple of hours a week and donations of stock including books, jigsaws, CDs, DVDs and any other bric-a-brac. You can drop donations off any time or call 01262 409352 to arrange a collection.
Crime prevention advice is available on the same number.

Carol Johnson is a 57 year old school teacher from Danby.
She’ll be doing a 250 mile charity bike ride through India later this year.
It’s to raise money for three cancer charities: Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Trust and Ovarian Cancer Care.

Scarborough & District Dial-A-Ride provides transport for older people and people with disabilities in and around the Scarborough & Filey area.
They're looking for volunteer drivers and passenger escorts. Drivers need to be over 21, but passenger escorts need only to be over 18. Ideally, you'll be able to work at least one full day a week.
Full training and support is given.

St Catherine's Hospice are always looking for volunteers for their charity shops along the Yorkshire Coast.
Volunteers need to have customer service skills and if possible a basic computer knowledge.
There are also opportunties to undertake an NVQ in retail.

The shop is open Monday to Saturday 9.45am - 4.45pm.
You can work hours to suit, sorting, ironing and cashiering.

Whitby's Trinity Day Centre
The Trinity Day Centre offers crafts, quizzes, bingo, dominoes and many other social activities for older people in Whitby and the surrounding villages.
The Centre has its own minibus offering a door to door pick up/drop off service.
They're fundraising to keep it running.

Scarborough District Talking News Audio Book Library has a large selection of specially adapted Audio Books available for loan to visually impaired people. These books are available on cassette, CD and USB memory stick.
